lecture was delivered by Dr. V. Senthilathiappan, Senior Scientist, EPA, United
States Government on the following topics.
1.) The different sources of pollution.
2.) The quality parameters of Air and Water.
3.) The possible areas of research, related to environmental pollution.

Special lecture was delivered by Dr.Asokamani Rajamanickam, former Professor of Physics, Anna
University, Chennai on the following topics.
1. The emerging research areas in the present scenario.
2. Various links for the research scholars to execute the Research.
3. Narration about Material Science.

AIEEE On – Line Examination |
Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering is selected as one of the venues for conducting
On-line Examination AIEEE – 2012.
For the examinations on 07/05/2012, 12/05/2012 and on 26/ 05/2012 the College has
arranged bus facility (pick- up & drop) for the convenience of students and parents as per
the schedule given below.
Pick –up point:
Valluvar Gurukulam School,
(Gandhi Road – GST Road Junction, Tambaram)
(Near Tambaram Bus Stand)
Bus Timings – 7.30 AM, 7.45 AM and 8.00 AM on the dates of the Examinations.
The students and parents will be dropped back at Tambaram after the Examination.

Work Shop on How to Make the Students Industry – Ready |
Work shop was conducted by MCA department of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering on How to make the students Industry – ready.
It is an awareness and interactive programe conducted by IEEE Computer Society. Mr. Dhian Singh, IEEE Computer Society Education has presented the important applications of software engineering to industry. He has also elaborated the certificate programmes offered by IEEE CS in conjunction with Purna Career Solutions which is an IEEE CS registered education provider in India.
Students of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering were exposed on the Applications of Software Engineering which would improve their chances of employment in software industry.

A Seminar on Solar Energy Utilization and Renewable Sources of Energy on 03 May 2012 |
A Seminar on Solar Energy Utilization and Renewable Sources of Energy was conducted by SAHA of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering on 03/05/2012.
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Dean, R&D, Sri Sai Ram Engineering College, Chennai has made a presentation on the usage of Solar Panels at various places such as Ooty, Coonoor where there is less sunny days with a demonstration of some tiny and costliest equipments such as Anemometer to measure wind velocity and simulate the same in the computer.

Lab VIEW Training Programme |
| Lab VIEW core 1 training programme was offered under the aegis of Lab VIEW Academy to the students of EEE and ECE Branches during 9th-11th July 2011. Mr.Visweswaran Jagadeesan, Academic Technical Consultant of National Instruments, Bangalore stressed the need for learning and updating the knowledge in the field of core Engineering. Prof.Hari kumar Naidu, Professor and Head of Department, EEE welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by Dr. V. Subramanian, Principal.

Infosys Campus Connect Soft Skills Training program in collaboration with Worksenses
on 22 - 26 June 2011 |
| Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering in collaboration with Infosys and Work senses conducted the Infosys Campus Connect Soft Skills Training program from 22/06/2011 to 26/06/2011 for 300 students of Third year. The five day training program was conducted by a team of experienced and highly skilled soft skill trainers from Work senses. The program exposed the students to some of the key job skills like business communication, etiquettes, time management, goal setting interview skills and entrepreneurship. The Students were able to communicate fluently and they were much exposed to corporate culture. They requested the Management to conduct many more such training programs. The Staff members of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering under the guidance of Dr. V.Subramanian, Principal, Dr. S.Duraiswamy, Vice Principal (Academic) and Prof.S.Sridharan coordinated the event.

Training programme "National Electricity Distribution Franchisee" on 01 June 2011 |

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering has inaugurated a three days training programme on “ National Electricity Distribution Franchisee “ sponsored by Rural Electrification Corporation, New Delhi and Tamilnadu Electricity Board, TANGEDCO, Chennai on 01-06-2011. for the final year Students. The Inauguration was presided over by Dr V.P. Ramamurthi, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering. Dr.V. Subramanian, Principal felicitated and Prof. Harikumar Naidu HOD EEE welcomed the gathering. About 40 students of our College have participated and benefited in this programme. The training programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Vathsala Gurumurthy, DGM, HRD, Staff Training College, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and conducted by the Senior Engineers of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. |
